About the Lake

A natural idyll and historic setting in the Lucerne Mittelland

The secluded Lake Sempach covers an area of around 14 square kilometres in the Lucerne Mittelland and is mainly fed by its main tributary, the Grosse Aa. Its gentle topography and sheltered location ensure pleasantly warm water temperatures in summer.

The surrounding lakeside communities offer a comprehensive range of facilities for swimming. Modern lido facilities, spacious sunbathing lawns and gently sloping access points to the lake are evenly distributed around the entire lake.
